Every year on the first Wednesday of July, St Michael’s village in St Albans shuts it’s roads for a couple of hours (8pm-10pm) for it’s annual folk festival. There are clog dancers, morris men, folk bands, a uke orchestra, hog roasts and general frivolity. It’s all centred around the pubs, most of which are CAMRA recommended.
We took the kids last year and they had a ball, this year, Danger is one and a half and he had the absolute time of his life. In fact, he had more staying power than either the boy or Fifi. They all slept well that night, which made a change. Mind you, the fact we tucked them all in at about 10 o’clock may have had as much to do with it as the stimulation. We thought Danger would have fallen asleep in the buggy on the way home but no, he was wide awake and humming to himself.
