Ham yesterday, ham tomorrow but never ham today

I was about to leave the house this morning on my way to work at roughly 8 o’clock when I spotted a slice of ham sitting on the coffee table. It wasn’t there when I went to bed last night at a self confessed later time of 11.30pm and I’m fairly sure nobody had snuck down in the night and placed it there.

In addition to a standard fridge freezer, accessible to all the children via a chair, we also have a set of fridge drawers that are ace but even Ned can help himself to stuff from them. Boys being boys, the more artificial and processed the food, the better so I have no doubt the ham was abandoned by a boy, it’s just which one of the two…

Still, I should count myself lucky it wasn’t thrown down the back of the sofa, pushed under it, placed in the toy box or even put underneath the radiator, small mercies and all that.
