Death and bereavement is something that will happen to all kids even if its just their pet fish. Its better to gently prepare them for it.  Now with their father dying it&amp;#39;s too late. If a grandmother or grandfather dies and a granchild is attached to them, it might be difficult to explain this. I think this book is made largely for this type of circumstance.
