Sometimes you just can’t believe your eyes


Apologies for the wonky video quality, my passenger whipped out her smartphone to shoot it. Last summer the council enforced a no parking on the verge rule on Bluehouse Hill in St Albans. People ignored the signs and the traffic wardens regularly hit their monthly targets in the space of an hour or so as cars were all ticketed on pretty much every sunny day.

This year fewer people have parked on the verges but nearby estates have had cars parked absolutely everywhere there isn’t a double yellow line. Even on the inside corner of a bend with a traffic island in the middle of it. It’s such a shame that the city hopper bus didn’t come along and take the sides off of some of these cars really…
